Edit an iMessage screenshot
Swap a name for a placeholder, fix a typo, or rewrite a line for a joke or a mock-up. The San Francisco font and the bubbles stay the same.
Edit the text in your image
Before and after
Before
After
Before
AfterIn short
Upload the screenshot from the Messages app. The scan finds the contact name, each message, the time stamps and "Delivered" or "Read". Type the new text for the lines you want to change. The result keeps the iOS font, the blue and gray bubbles and the status bar, at the size of your screenshot. No app to install; it works in Safari on the iPhone itself.
How it works
- 1
Upload the image
PNG, JPEG or WebP. The text in it is found and boxed in a few seconds. No account needed for this step.
- 2
Type what each line should say
Click a box, type the new text, or translate every line into another language in one click. Fix a misread line or draw a box the scan missed. Change up to 20 lines at once.
- 3
Download the result
In 20 to 40 seconds you get a PNG with the new text in the original font, color and angle. One credit per image; your first is free.
Good reasons to edit a chat
- Post a funny exchange without the other person's name: change the name at the top to "Mom" or "Friend".
- Turn a real chat into a meme by changing one word.
- Make a mock-up of a conversation for an app design, a slide or a video, without setting up two phones.
- Fix a typo before the screenshot goes into a guide.
Tips for iMessage
The name under the contact photo is one line; change it once and the rest of the chat stays as it was.
A message about as long as the old one keeps the bubble the same. A much longer one makes the bubble taller and pushes the messages below it down.
Change "Today 2:14 PM" or "Read 9:41 PM" in the same edit if the time should match. All of it is one credit.
Not for
Making it look like a real person said something they did not, or editing a chat to use as proof. That breaks our terms, and such edits may be stopped. Payment and bank screens are refused by the scan.
What it will not edit
ID cards, passports, driving licences, certificates, transcripts, receipts, invoices and bank documents. The scan recognises these and the edit is refused before anything is charged. Editing them is forgery in most places, and we do not want that traffic.
Everything else that is yours to change is fine: your screenshots, your designs, your photos, images you have the rights to.
Questions
Will the new text look like the real iPhone font?
Yes. The font is taken from the letters around it, so the new words come out in San Francisco at the same size and weight.
Does it work with green SMS bubbles and dark mode?
Yes. The bubble color and the background around each line are kept.
Can I change the time in the status bar?
Yes. The status bar clock is found like any other line. Change it to 9:41 for a clean mock-up.
Do I need to know the font?
No. The font, weight, color, outline and slant are copied from the pixels around the line. You only type the new words.
Does it keep the resolution?
Yes. The result is a PNG the same size as the image you uploaded, and apart from the lines you changed, the pixels are the ones you uploaded. Nothing is downscaled to fit a watermark or a free tier.
Is there a watermark?
No, on free and paid edits alike.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on iPhone and Android. Upload from your camera roll, tap a line, type, download.
What does it cost?
One credit per image, however many lines you change. New accounts get 1 free credit. Then 2 edits for $1, 40 for $10, or 120 a month for $20. Failed edits are not charged. Pricing.
What happens to my image?
It is sent to the model once and kept in private storage, with the result, for 30 days, then deleted. Delete the edit in your account and both go at once. Neither is public. See the privacy policy.
